FROM THE DESK ...

-

I’ve only read one, but I’ve seen all the movies. My children have read them all — several times — and seen all the movies — approximately 4925 times. Despite me suggesting that they broaden their reading horizons, they never seem to tire of Harry

Potter. It’s been like this for years. There are pictures pinned, and curling now, all over their walls. We have all the DVDs and have all been captivated by the impressive cast. Fifteen actors who have starred in the Potter franchise have since died, including Hazel Douglas, Alan Rickman, Rik Mayall, Richard Griffiths, Richard Harris and John Hurt. It’s been 20 years since the first Harry Potter book was published — Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Someone said “Alarte Ascendare!” to the time. Sarah Daniell, Deputy Editor
