( No10) are both really dangerous in a good betting race.

Enchanting Beauty ( No6, R9) could be good way to finish the day, although this is a very competitive race. The wide gate will be an advantage late in the day and Troy Harris will make the most of it. I’m Brosnan ( No8) is also out there at the start and is not the worst prospect.

A mare who failed to make any early impact on her trainer will be out to defend her unbeaten record today.

Liquid Inspiration has made the dream start to her career with two wins from as many starts and she will chase further success in the Maketu Gentlemen’s Club 1215m at Arawa Park. “She’s definitely surprised me, I can’t believe it actually,” Matamata horseman Wayne Hillis said.

The five- year- old won on debut on her home track and was again successful at Arawa Park last month. The runners- up in those respective races, Trueman and Combat Warrior, have both since won. The South Canterbury meeting originally scheduled for yesterday will now be run tomorrow. There will be no change to the originally released fields and all scratchings will be re- instated. ( Unsuitable track conditions contributed to the last- start downfall of the smart mare Art Deco in the Listed Opunake Cup. “She didn’t go in the holding ground,” trainer Allan Sharrock said. “She’s having a week off and then she’ll run in an open sprint as a lead- up to the Merial Metric Mile.” Art Deco has won five of her 15 starts and her seventh placing at New Plymouth last Sunday was the first time she has failed to return a cheque. Group one- winning jockey Jason Waddell will return to race- riding next week. The 31- year- old, who was successful aboard Kawi in the Haunui Farm WFA Classic earlier this year, has been sidelined since the autumn. “He had a plate and screws removed from his leg,” his agent Darryl Anderson said. “He’s been back riding trackwork and rode at the Matamata jump- outs. Jason will ride at the Te Teko trials next Tuesday and then at Te Rapa on Saturday.” A stakes test awaits Lord Sibford in the immediate future with an ambitious long- term plan ahead of the rising four- year- old. The son of Darci Brahma will attempt to complete a hat- trick of wins when he runs in the Goldpine Timaru 1600 tomorrow as a lead in to the Gr. 3 eStar Winter Cup on Saturday week. “He just keeps getting better and better and I’d love to see him in the Singapore Derby next year,” Waiuku trainer Sean Cameron said. I’d have to give him away for that, but I’m trying to do the best for my owner.” Bred by Cliff Matson who has retained an ownership interest, Lord Sibford has won his last two appearances at Oamaru and Ashburton. Unbeaten Don’tblamethemusic is on the way back from injury. “He tweaked a suspensory after his last win,” said Jamie Richards, who trains in partnership with Stephen Autridge. “He’s done his rehab and is back in work. We’re pretty happy with him.” Don’tblamethemusic was an easy winner on debut at Stratford before Christmas and he made it two from two when successful at Tauranga in January. Sam Collett has been booked to ride Kaharau in the Gr. 3 eStar Winter Cup at Riccarton on Saturday week. The 27- year- old was successful on the gelding last month when they combined to win an open handicap over a mile at Ruakaka. The world’s former best sprinter, Lankan Rupee, has come in for early support for his return to racing at Caulfield in the Bletchingly Stakes. The rising eight- year- old resumes in today’s weight- for- age 1200m feature, his first start since last spring and just his fourth run in the past two years during which he has been beset by various injuries. He opened at $ 6.50 with TAB fixed odds on Wednesday but a day later had tightened to $ 4.50 on the second line of betting behind last- start Monash Stakes winner Supido ($ 3.60).
