What I’d do

- Luke Patrick

1Spookers Friday night I’d head all the way out to

in Kingseat. On Friday night they have buses that pick you up from various parts of Auckland so you can have a few sneaky drinks to build up your Dutch courage before you go in there. The place is freaking terrifying, but Halloween weekend seems like the appropriate time of year to push your boundaries and just about crap yourself with fear. If I really wanted to go for gold, I’d book the double scare pass and do Spookers on the Friday and Night Frights at Rainbow’s End on the Saturday. 2Time Saturday morning I’d shoot over to the

Out Bookstore in Mt Eden where they are having “Howl-O-Ween” and celebrating NZ Bookshop Day at Auckland's dog-friendly bookstore! I can take the pups in for a doggy bag of goodies and there will be tricks and treats for the rest of the family too. There will be some good spooky books to get my hands on at the same time. 3they Saturday night I’ll be at Bungalow 8 where

are having a Halloween costume party and some quality Halloween-themed cocktails. Good DJs will also be in attendance so I’ll definitely be having a boogie in my outfit, which will very probably be the genius doughnut or pizza costumes that I have found for super-cheap at Kmart just recently. I look hilarious. 4hangover Sunday morning I’ll be nursing a marginal

so I’ll head to Piha beach to clear my head and think of all the lost souls. Then it will back into town to the Warehouse to purchase excessive amounts of candy and a couple of decorations so I am all ready for Halloween night on the 31st when the kids in my street head out to round up as much sugar as they can.
