The children's ward and the National Burn Centre are among four buildings at Middlemore Hospital that are leaking and have dangerous mould and bacteria growing in them. Is this good enough?

It was built during Helen Clark's first term of office under the shonky rules bequeathed to her by the previous shonky National Govt. John Key's shonky government did nothing to fix the problem despite the fact that they knew about the severe problems as long ago as 2012. Now the new Government has to fix the problem.

I worked for Counties Manukau DHB, things looked great then, but now it's time for change. Given the chance, I will put staff and patient safety first instead of pay package. I would love to see a CEO meeting targets, developing staff, and put the DHB back into the clear and “not in debt”.

Middlemore is a gross, dank hospital. When I took my son there 6 years ago for a head injury, he also cut himself on a broken bit of floor tile (he was 14 months) and a staff member gave a baby in the waiting room some Coke! The fizzy kind, but still, sheesh.

Partly thanks to a National government who ran them into the ground thinking of bargain basement sales when they were elected again. Thank God they weren't.
