Strength in numbers
Driven this week joined the New Zealand Automobile Association in announcing the AA Driven Car of the Year awards for 2018.
We are combining our annual awards to pinpoint the country’s 10 top finalists, with the winners to be announced at a function in Auckland in December.
The two organisations are combining their strengths to create one of the most rigorously judged car of the year awards the country has seen.
One of the strengths of the awards will be the transparency of the judging criteria, the judging process, and we will have full coverage here in print, on Driven.co.nz, and in other NZME titles.
By the time we reach the award ceremony in December, Driven readers will know how and why the judging panel has chosen each of the finalists.
As AA Motoring Services TONY VERDON
general manager Stella Stocks says, the new awards format will ensure the winner has been thoroughly tested and has earned its place among the finalists. There will be a people’s choice award, with AA members and the public contributing to the outcome.
The judging panel will include some of the most experienced motoring journalists in the country, along with expertise from the AA.
The judges will represent big city and regional motoring journalism.
The panel will be announced soon, and rest assured we will keep Driven readers in print and online fully up to date with the process leading up to the winners being announced in December.
