Undersized export

-

Ten years ago we were in Melbourne for Love Never Dies (The Phantom of The Opera sequel) and we went to Victoria Markets for some grub. The fish stall was selling New Zealand snapper for $12.50. The NZ price then was $18.90. The fish were too short, about 200mm. The man informed me they were legal to sell in Australia as New Zealand was allowed to export

200mm fish even though our limit was

250mm. This was to minimise the dumping of undersized fish. Naturally we had a good feed of snapper.
