Enjoy sweeping harbour views

Developers of the Saints luxury apartments have released their dream penthouse as buyer demand builds, writes Sandra Goodwin

The couple driving luxury boutique development Saints in St Heliers have added its crowning two-storey penthouse residence they’d earmarked for themselves into the options to buy. Tony and Jane Simmons have teamed up with Simon Pirie Architects and builders Frontline Projects, offering off the plans four exclusive residences with sweeping views across the harbour.

Tony says: “Having owned the old house that’s currently onsite for 23 years we did originally intend Saints’ penthouse would be ours.

“But we’re told there’s some real market interest in the penthouse so we were prepared to put it on the market in order to get on with this development which we’re primed and ready to go on.”

The couple started marketing Saints late last year with pricing starting around $5.5-million. They say there’s been pleasing interest with one purchaser talking about signing up when building consent is issued imminently.

Jane still gets goosebumps looking at the layout of the 407 square metre two-level penthouse bolstered by more than 77 square metres of terracing.

Resultantly the scaffolding tower fronting the onsite display suite is now two levels higher illustrating the spectacular 360-degree views the penthouse will offer.

The development will sit just above St Heliers Bay Village on the corner of St Heliers Bay Drive and Benbow Street. It will enjoy sea views including harbour highlights Rangitoto, Browns Island and North Head and will watch activity on local Vellenoweth Green.

The three-bedroom ground floor apartment priced at $5.5 million-plus has exclusive lawn and outdoor patios. The first floor’s four-bedroom residence priced at $6.5-million-plus gets nearly 77-square metres of elevated terracing — tantamount to the floor space of two double garages.

The sub-penthouse and two-level penthouse apartments, both of which have four-bedrooms, focus on stupendous views. The newly offered penthouse apartment’s 360-degree views will include Auckland landmarks such as One Tree Hill.

A feature unique to the penthouse will be the soaring atrium above its foyer. A lift runs up through the building plus the penthouse has its own lift between floors, plus a stairwell up to its upper level master suite which will include extra lounging space. Apartments each get three secure basement car parks plus storage off Benbow Street. The penthouse gets its own St Heliers Bay Road

entrance to an exclusive-use three car garage plus a parking spot capable of fitting a 7.5-metre motor home or boat.

Interiors include ducted central heating, second living areas able to be integrated or closed off, kitchen sculleries and abundant internal storage. Some residences are fronted by sunny, enclosed wintergarden-loggias with side glass able to be concertinaed open.

Tony says: “But of course one of the advantages of buying at this stage is the ability to customise your interior.”

He says the application for Saints’ building consent should be approved soon. Completion is scheduled for the first half of 2021.
