LUXURY PLUS

Remuera apartment complex designed for downsizers who want to stay in the area they love, writes CATHERINE MASTERS

Remuera Residences promise luxury on the inside and unbeatable lifestyle on the outside, says Wayne Maguire, CEO of five Eastern Bays Ray White offices.

Building of the two- and three-bedroom freehold apartment complex at 13 Green Lane East, which borders the Wairua Reserve, is due to start in June with a target completion date of October 2021.

The idea was to provide for the baby-boomer generation who wanted to downsize but stay in the area they loved, says Wayne.

“Being able to live in a lockup-and-leave would enable them to spend time at home but equally spend time away.” Younger people would also love the apartments as a way to break into the Remuera market and to stay near family.

“Being able to purchase a spacious two-bedroom apartment in Remuera for under a million dollars, all of a sudden Remuera becomes accessible,” says Wayne.

“There’s an expectation that a high percentage of the new owners will have a family connection to Remuera and the surrounds.

“You’ve got the double grammar zone, you’re bordering a reserve, you’re next to a park and a playground, you’ve got access to the motorway, access into the CBD, you’re close to Remuera shops ... so it becomes very attractive to a wide range of the market.”

Because the park and playground is next door, the location is great for grandparents who can take the youngsters out.

The apartments are positioned for sun and because the buyer market is discerning, the layout had to enhance the way of life people were accustomed to.

The kitchens, for example, had to be more spacious and luxurious than a standard apartment, so Matisse in Parnell came up with a fully integrated kitchen with European appliances and stone benches.

“There are a few other apartment developments that are pending for Remuera and no one’s got the lifestyle on the outside that this has , and we’re guaranteeing the luxury on the inside,” says Wayne.

The energy-efficient apartments are open plan with plenty of storage, and buyers can customise the layout.

There’s secure basement parking, electric charging, video intercom and a building-wide security system and two sets of lifts.

A launch event is planned for February 27 at the Matisse showroom at 99 The Strand, Parnell, plus there is a showroom at on site at 13 Greenlane East, Remuera.

Ray White agent Linda Taylor says the location next to the Wairua Reserve is the biggest asset.

“The reserve is dog-friendly, has a newly refurbished playground complete with flying fox and there are even picnic tables.

“The park is a council reserve who do a great job maintaining it and being tucked away, it is a closely guarded secret of the locals.”

Sale: Two and three bedroom apartments selling from just $990,000.
