Wet cast paving firm concrete opportunity

-

Paving Slab Company Ltd (PSC) has been a leading supplier of wet cast paving products in the Auckland region for more than 30 years.

One of only three major wet cast paving producers, it is being brought to the market by Peter Nola of ABC Business Sales.

PSC provides bespoke products such as paving and small run products that are not available, or of interest, to either ready-mix operations or manufacturers of large molded concrete products.

The owner lives in Nelson and has allowed the operations manager to run the business in his absence.

The owner now wishes to reduce his commitments, so he has made PSC available for sale.

Said Nola: “The business model is based on providing exactly what the customer wants.

“This can be anything from making a single paver, to replacing a broken one in a garden, through to contributing to the design of a paver for a specific application, be it a courtyard or swimming pool area.”

There are growth avenues available and the manufacturing facility has capability to diversify.

In total, the monthly average stock is about $50-60k, with annual stock turn at around 10 times.

“This is a niche operation with a low number of competitors,” said

“This is a niche operation with a low number of competitors. As a market leader, they are long established with an excellent reputation for quality and service.”

Nola. “As a market leader, they are long established with an excellent reputation for quality and service.

“With numerous key blue-chip customers, long-established distribution channels, and tested operating and support systems, this is a sturdy business.”

There is an established formula/ method for pricing existing product lines and for establishing prices for one-off special products.

The business has six fulltime staff, most of whom have been employed at PSC for a number of years. It has been a very stable workforce.

Said Nola: “This is a well-run business and would suit someone with a mix of sales and marketing skills.

“Someone wanting a business with a regular, steady clientele and the opportunity to build on this company’s reputation for quality and dependability.”
