DEVELOPMENT IN GLEN EDEN

-

We are fully accepting of the need for housing developments in Glen Eden and it is good that there is development on the horizon. This will be very beneficial for the economy of Glen Eden business district. However, the proposed two ten story buildings appear to have a number of problems, firstly the height of the buildings well exceeds the amount that would be allowed for by the proposed Unitary Plan. Secondly, there should be a mix of one, two and three bedroom units, as opposed to mainly one and two bedrooms. Thirdly, is that there will be further stress on an already congested traffic system. The developers of this project have sought a non-notifiable resource consent, which is another form of secrecy. They would be advised to seek community support and input into this development and take the community along with them

NEW RUBBISH BINS

What is wrong with people? On the lid of the bins it quite clearly states ‘keep the pavement’ clear. I am absolutely shocked at the number of people in my street and surrounding one who used to put their bins on the grass verge who have now put them on the pavement. I have watched many mothers with pushchairs this morning having to go on to the road to pass these bins. Come on people get your act together.
