GOODBYE CLUB FIAFIA

-

With the sad news this week that Club Fiafia, west Auckland’s only nightclub, would be closing down it’s current site following flood damage last weekend, we asked you to share with us your best Fiafia memories.

Did you meet your partner there? Perhaps you spotted someone famous? Over one hundred shares and 755 comments later, it is clear that Fiafia was the centre of many a good night out and will be sorely missed. Here are some of the best comments we plucked off Facebook.

Oh no it was the Leon club back in my days and that was the first nightclub I was introduced too and then it became my best friend. Farewell to all the great memories.

Fau Pritchard

Best memory was coming down stairs to the pork buns at the end of a long night.

Danielle Morgan

Best memories is walking past fiafia late looking for the keke pua and oka from the old man selling it outside, mean.

Kevin Lemalie

I remember drinking there 20-years ago when it was called Alamos.

Sarina Rogerson

Aw it’s sad to hear it’s gone because I have met a lot of good people and had a lot of good times there. Especially bumping into people I have not seen in years and what a coincidence, here a lot of them are in the comments. Introduced my new partner to my regular hang out back in the days while telling stories of our happy, crazy, wild, fun weekends when we ladies would meet up. Will never forget westside Fiafia.

Kaloniahi Haare

It is really hard to say what the best memory we had here was with the girls. It’s a sad day.

Holly Pugh

I can remember the night someone got escorted down the stairs piggy back styles. Great times.

Tumua Ale

Awkward moment when you buy out all the pork buns but never even got to the club so none of the clubbers could even buy one.

Gillian I-i

Oh my gosh thanks for sharing. Couldn’t believe this is

A friend had her wedding there and another found her first and second husband there. Shaking my head, sad day.

Kiva Jackson

Fiafia, the original cash me outside.

Richie Vavega

Still remember that one night Claire. One of those good random nights just catching up... nek minute...whats this? Club Fiafia.

Sene Fidow

Oh man where are we going to go now.

Alofa Tasi

Damn, we didn’t even get to go. Dana Cocker

Don’t worry people, I am with the Fiafia south crew now. Fiafia west will be back soon somewhere else in New Lynn. Watch this space.
