Health Minister Jonathan Coleman says a new website and social media campaign will help encourage women to have more regular cervical smears and mammograms. Women aged 20 to 70 should have a cervical smear test every three years. Women aged between 45 and 69 should have a mammogram every two years. NATIONAL LIST RELEASED

The National Party released its party list for 2017 on July 30. Upper Harbour candidate Paula Bennett sits at number 2 on the list, Te Atatu candidate Alfred Ngaro at number 20, New Lynn’s Paulo Garcia at number 50, Kelston candidate Bala Beeran at 57 and Helensvill­e’s Chris Penk at 64.

NEW CHAIRS FOR PANELS

Twelve new chairperso­ns and deputy chairperso­ns have been elected for Auckland Council advisory panels. For the Disability Advisory Panel, Philip Paterson has been elected as chairperso­n, and Dan Buckingham as deputy. The Ethnic Peoples Advisory Panel now has Sunil Kaushal as chairperso­n and Jade Tang-Taylor as deputy. Leaupepe Taala Ralph Elika is the new chairperso­n of the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel and Caroline Harris deputy. For the Rainbow Communitie­s Advisory Panel, Jules RadfordPou­pard and John Kingi have been elected as co-chairperso­ns. Janet Clews is the new chairperso­n for the Seniors Advisory Panel and David Won Hop as deputy. For the Youth Advisory Panel, Veisinia Maka has been elected as chairperso­n and Damian Piilua as deputy.
