Health Minister Jonathan Coleman says a new website and social media campaign will help encourage women to have more regular cervical smears and mammograms. Women aged 20 to 70 should have a cervical smear test every three years. Women aged between 45 and 69 should have a mammogram every two years. NATIONAL LIST RELEASED
The National Party released its party list for 2017 on July 30. Upper Harbour candidate Paula Bennett sits at number 2 on the list, Te Atatu candidate Alfred Ngaro at number 20, New Lynn’s Paulo Garcia at number 50, Kelston candidate Bala Beeran at 57 and Helensville’s Chris Penk at 64.
NEW CHAIRS FOR PANELS
Twelve new chairpersons and deputy chairpersons have been elected for Auckland Council advisory panels. For the Disability Advisory Panel, Philip Paterson has been elected as chairperson, and Dan Buckingham as deputy. The Ethnic Peoples Advisory Panel now has Sunil Kaushal as chairperson and Jade Tang-Taylor as deputy. Leaupepe Taala Ralph Elika is the new chairperson of the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel and Caroline Harris deputy. For the Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel, Jules RadfordPoupard and John Kingi have been elected as co-chairpersons. Janet Clews is the new chairperson for the Seniors Advisory Panel and David Won Hop as deputy. For the Youth Advisory Panel, Veisinia Maka has been elected as chairperson and Damian Piilua as deputy.
