Christmas parades and events out West

Santa Claus is heading to town – and a number of local parades.

We’ve compiled a list of West Auckland Santa parades and Christmas festivals during November and December that may be in your neighbourh­ood.

Best of all, they are free to attend.

NOVEMBER 24

Watch Northwest Shopping Centre’s Christmas tree light up at its Christmas in the Square event. There will be live entertainm­ent, Santa, and Suzy Cato to celebrate Christmas in true Kiwi style. The event will take place from 6pm8pm.

NOVEMBER 25

The Blockhouse Bay Santa Parade will take place in the Blockhouse Bay Village on Blockhouse Bay Rd, Blockhouse Bay. The parade is due to start at 10.45am.

The Westgate Santa Parade will begin at 10am, with the route including Westgate Drive and the Westgate Centre.

Henderson’s Christmas Festival will take place at Henderson Park, 41 Wilsher Crescent, Henderson from 10am-2pm.

DECEMBER 2

Enjoy a fun few hours with the family at this year’s Christmas in New Lynn event. It will take place on Totara Avenue, New Lynn from 10am-1pm.

Glen Eden’s Santa parade and Christmas party will also take place on December 2. The party starts from 11am, with the parade due at 2pm.

Te Atatu¯ Peninsula will celebrate Christmas with its Santa parade and fun day taking place at Jack Pringle Park, Te Atatu¯ Peninsula. The fun day will be on from 9am-2pm with the parade at 11am.

An evening event, Glow Titirangi, will place in the Titirangi Village, Titirangi from 6pm-9pm. It will include live music, street performers and Jesse Griffin as this year’s MC.

DECEMBER 8

The annual Kumeu¯ Rotary Christmas Parade will take place along Main Rd, Kumeu¯ on December 8 starting from 4pm and closing up at 7pm.

DECEMBER 9

The Glendene community’s Santa run will take place at Glendene Reserve, 34 Glendene Avenue, on December 9 from 11am-1pm.
