RODDERS RETURN

-

Wanganui Road Rodders are again hosting the Protecta Insurance River City Park Up on Sunday, April 8 at Whanganui City College.

The River City Park Up is an open air vehicle display which brings car and vehicle enthusiasts from all over the North Island to showcase a diverse collection of vehicles not normally seen in one place. After the success of the first show, held last year, which attracted nearly 500 vehicles, the organisers are hoping to have that number again.

It is expected that the Park Up will be a great family day out with something for everyone, from the young through to the more mature, for anyone who enjoys a nostalgic moment down memory lane, petrol heads and those who appreciate the roar of an engine and the beauty and glamour of shiny chrome and polished paintwork.

The display will include American and European cars covering vintage, classic and hot rods. Boats, bikes and competition vehicles will also be on display — almost anything with wheels or an engine.

The Wanganui Classic Trial Motorcycle group is putting on riding displays at 10am and 1pm where they will demonstrate their balance and riding skills.

The event will again support local Wanganui charities, Riding for the Disabled, Surf Lifesaving and Coastguard, through donations from the gate entry.

Trade displays, Steam Punk entertainment and food stalls will be there on the day.
