What: Harete is a lawyer and Whanganui local. She and husband Dean MacFater are mana whenua, with Harete affiliated with Te Atihaunui a Paparangi, Nga¯ ti Apa and Nga¯ Rauru. Born, raised and educated in Whanganui, she graduated in 1991 with an LL.B and has worked in general practice in family, mental health, youth justice child welfare, criminal, Ma¯ ori land and mediation. She has served on Whanganui DHB and is Whanganui electorate MP. The talk will be followed by questions and supper.
