#shesheds might be one step too far now

- With Peter Hall

#metoo #shetoo #hetoo #wetoo.

So many #toos and which one do we turn #too at this time in our personal histories?

Each #too has its supporters and defenders, and each and every one one of them serves a purpose in defining the times.

What happened 30 years ago is not acceptable today — not that it was then but the development of social media and the courage given to individuals is now leading the drive for an improvement in human relationships.

While some bemoan the fact that incidents serious and otherwise were either not dealt with appropriately in the past or completely ignored with shaming and other methods, the old saying of “everyone will have their Waterloo” is now more a reality of these times than it ever was. But can a #too movement go too far?

Can the Moulin Rouge in Paris or the Chippendales be accused of exploitation? Can power politicians be brought down due to their misdeeds? Where is the line to be drawn?

Just maybe the line has been crossed.

Blokes — the sheds are under attack.

The shed — long the domain of the male of the human species is now having to face the fact that it is being challenged as a #He Shed by the development of the #She Shed!

Ty Pennington of Trading Spaces and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition fame was the special guest at Rotelle Studio’s Dream BIG Home Event and He versus She Shindig on September 15.

Talking up their respective sheds were Peter Rotelle, the studio’s president and owner and He Shed team leader, and Renee Pratt, the custom home-builder’s chief designer and She Shed team leader.

The two designer sheds will be open for public voting, then one of the sheds will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to an addiction treatment facility. The sheds can be seen at www.rotelle.com

Is this going too far? An infringement on a basic #he right? Whatever view you wish to defend, the reality of the #shed is here.

Perhaps the #Our Shed movement will follow soon.
