HOW COULD YOU DO THIS, WILLS?

When Prince William was pictured partying with a blonde Aussie beauty on a ski holiday in the Swiss Alps while the rest of the royal family marked Commonwealth Day back in London, the British press were outraged.

Branding him “work-shy” and “idle”, they fumed that he was ducking his duties, pointing out that the 34-year-old helicopter pilot had undertaken only 13 days of official engagements this year and that he was the sole “major royal” to miss the Westminster Abbey service.

However, no-one was more furious at William than his wife, the humiliated Duchess of Cambridge, 35, who was left to look after their young children while the heir to the throne downed shots on the slopes of Verbier before showing off some dodgy “dad dancing” at a nearby nightclub and even putting his arm around another woman’s waist.

“Kate is generally all for Wills letting off steam with his friends – after all, being a royal can be quite constricting,” a palace insider reveals, speaking exclusively to Woman’sDay. “But not when he’s skipping important events to act up. And certainly not when he’s boozing with models on the dance floor. It was unfortunate that he was caught out, but in Kate’s mind, that’s no excuse.

“When Kate and Wills married, she agreed to start doing things the royal way. She’d keep her head down, never speak out of turn, sparkle at parties and never do anything to embarrass the family. And in the past six years, she’s been utterly brilliant – the best thing to come the family’s way since Diana. This is why she feels so deeply disappointed with Wills. She’s done everything she can to keep up her end of the deal.”

A friend of Kate’s points out that her husband’s wild getaway is especially irritating to her because she’s dying for

another family holiday or a girly weekend away with her sister and mum, but she has kept her desires to herself as both she and William have been getting a lot of negative press for not performing enough royal duties.

Oh,theshame!

“Kate had warned Wills how bad the trip would look and she was utterly mortified when she saw the pictures,” her friend tells us. “Downing drinks with scantily clad beauties and partying, it’s as if her husband had turned into a teenage boy.

“She was in floods of tears, saying how he had humiliated them and disrespected her for acting like a wild single man with no commitments or respect for what was going on back home. He’s put their reputations at risk.”

Coincidentally, it was almost exactly a year ago that William and Kate took their children, Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 22 months, on their first family holiday in Switzerland. This time around, the prince’s travel buddies were his longtime friends Guy Pelly, James Meade, Tom van Straubenzee, as well as Australian beauty Sophie Taylor, 24, a former topless model who joined the group for a boozy lunch and then again at the nightclub.

While much has been made of Sophie’s beauty and charisma, and although Kate might be embarrassed and hurt by the pictures, we’re told the duchess knows her husband would never stray and that they’ll overcome this bump in their six-year marriage.

“Kate loves William and she knows he loves her,” adds our palace insider. “Ultimately, she knows they can get through this together and be stronger for it in the end. But it doesn’t mean Wills won’t have a lot of explaining to do first!”
