She’s been stringing her hubby along for weeks and forcing herself to pretend she might feel something for him, but now it seems the real reason blonde babe Michelle Marsh has been so desperately trying to stay on Marriedat First SightAustralia is the promise of a super-sized pay cheque!

In news that will likely crush poor Jesse Konstantinoff’s heart, an insider reveals the Adelaide fruit seller’s bride was lured on to the Three series with the promise of a hefty sum, as well as bonus money if she managed to stay until the end.

And with pictures emerging of Jesse, 31, and Michelle locked in what looks to be a fiery showdown outside Michelle and her twin sister Sharon’s 32nd birthday party in Perth last week, it seems heartbroken Jesse could be catching on.

A series insider says Michelle fell victim to the ways of the show’s clever producers, who saw the chance to capitalise on having beautiful blonde twins in the series. Desperate to get her on board, they allegedly offered to double the girls’ weekly fee of $1000 to $1800, with an added bonus if they both stay until the end.

“Everyone knows that it was Sharon who initially wanted to go on the show,” our insider says. “She was left heartbroken when her fiancé ran off with a good friend. It was their mum Lorraine who suggested she apply because all Sharon has ever wanted to do is get married and start a family.”

But we’re told that Michelle was never keen. Unlike her homebody sister – who is married to Nick Furphy – Michelle had just returned from living in London and was enjoying Perth’s dating scene, with no plans to settle down when they were approached.

“As soon as the producers found out Sharon was a twin, they were desperate to get them both on the show so they could tout it as a world first,” reveals our insider. “Michelle initially turned them down, so they decided to up their wages and promised that they would get such a huge fan base from the show that they might never have to work again.”

And the temptation was too

much for Michelle, who simply couldn’t turn such huge money down. “Meeting Jesse was really hard because while Michelle wasn’t attracted to him, she didn’t want to hurt his feelings and she really grew to love him as a mate,” our on-set insider tells.

“Michelle’s not a bad person and she also didn’t want to look bad on TV either, but she had come that far and wanted to stay for Sharon – and for the big pay cheque at the end.”
