Australia experiment for good last week – and just as we suspected, the former “lovers” aren’t even on speaking terms!

“Cheryl and I haven’t been able to remain friends,” reveals Perth firefighter Andrew, 38, who says his biggest regret was not getting out of the Three series sooner. “I should’ve got a flight home immediately after meeting Cheryl’s father in the Gold Coast. This show took its toll on me. It was full-on. I was emotionally drained and pretty low.”

Both parties received a barrage of public backlash as their rocky romance turned sour on TV. While Andrew was forced to shut down his Instagram account and spent a lot of time holed up at home, Cheryl has no sympathy for her backstabbing ex.

“Poor him, playing the victim again,” says the 25-year-old hairsalon manager. “I don’t feel the same. It does get overwhelming, but you just have to embrace it.”

Despite admitting the experiment was “overwhelming”, Cheryl says she’s in a good place – in fact, she’s hinted more reality TV and starting a family are on the horizon.

“I wouldn’t say no to being Australia’s next Bachelorette,” she says, “but I’d love to have kids before I turn 30. I have a really large family – there are seven of us – so being around kids of my own and being an interactive mum is important.”
