Woman’s Day (New Zealand)

JODIE RIMMER

-

Played Lily Jansen, 2001

Imposter Lily posed as Chris Warner’s childhood friend Samara Hindmarsh in order to trick him into marriage – and it almost worked! Auckland mum-of-two Jodie, 42, went on to star in TheStrip and InMy

Father’sDen, and now works in the wine industry.

What was your favourite SCENE TO fiLM?

It has to be the wedding day – “Samara” and Chris were about to marry when Rachel McKenna busted her. We had an actual fist fight with me in my wedding dress and Lily was run out of town. Go, Rachel, I say!

HOW DID YOU CHANNEL YOUR INNER VILLAIN?

Most villains are desperate for something and that drives them – they probably just need a big cuddle! Desperation is always fun to play when acting. I often play baddies and I absolutely love it. Baddies are the most fun!

HOW DID THE FANS REACT?

I got off pretty lightly because people didn’t realise Samara was a baddie until the end and there was no social media then. Phew!

WHAT’S THE MOST EVIL THING YOU’VE DONE IN REAL LIFE?

I had a particular teacher who was revolting to me over many years, so on my last day of school, I let down the tyres on her white Honda. It felt amazing!
