Played Hayley O’Neill, 2012

Manipulative maths tutor Hayley was obsessed with Chris and managed to convince his girlfriend Rachel they were having an affair, ruining his life. Auckland travel junkie Michelle, 34, went on to star in the telemovie Consent: TheLouiseNicholasStory.

What was your favourite sCEnE to fiLm?

One of my favourites was when Hayley broke into Rachel and Chris’ house, then snuck into bed to wake up beside Chris. So creepy! And I will never forget rocking around for hours, coated in fake blood and wrapped in shards of pretend glass, for Hayley’s dramatic death scene.

How DID you CHAnnEL your InnEr vILLAIn?

I watched Glenn Close in Fatal

Attraction as inspiration and spent time researching stalker behaviour to explore why Hayley had formed such an obsession with Chris. It’s my job as an actor to completely understand my character’s motivations and make them as authentic as possible.

How DID FAns rEACt to you?

Some of them would say, “I know who you are,” when they recognised me on the street. Then there were the die-hard fans who couldn’t stand my character and wouldn’t hesitate to tell me how much they hated Hayley.
