Carrie Fisher had cocaine, heroin and ecstasy in her system when she died of sleep apnoea last December, but the
StarWars icon’s family insists she might have passed away earlier if it weren’t for drugs.
A coroner’s report has declared drug use and heart disease contributed to her untimely demise, however, Carrie’s brother Todd Fisher, 59, claims, “Without her drugs, maybe she would have left long ago.”
Responding to the new revelations, Carrie’s daughter, ScreamQueens
actress Billie Lourd, says, “My mom battled drug addiction and mental illness her entire life. She ultimately died of it.”t.”
The 24-year-old explains, “She’d want her death to encourage people to be open about their struggles.”
Carrie’s halfsister, 49-year-old ModernFamily actress Joely Fisher adds, “She spent a lifetime documenting her dance with demons s ... She lived hard – let her rest.”
