Q My good friend won’t stop eating junk food and refuses to eat fruit. I am really concerned for her health but don’t want to insult her. She is slim and otherwise healthy looking, but surely the constant takeaways and fizzy drinks will take their toll?

Diet Police, Rotorua A They probably will, but in saying that, she may be like me and just dislike fruit. It’s far too acidic for me and I just hate it. Fruit also has a fair share of sugar so too much is not great. I love veges and eat a truckload of them. Do you see everything she eats? If fizzy drinks are the worst of her sins, then it might not be all bad. Could be worse – she could be having all that sugar in wine. You can try to set a good example, but as I’ve realised recently, you can’t be the food police, baby. Q I can’t be bothered grooming my lady garden, but my husband wants me to get a Brazilian. Should I? Confused, via email

A Well, most men tell me they are not a fan of the foliage. That’s from most men I know. I’ll come clean and say I am of the “South American” persuasion for two reasons: 1. He likes it. 2. And more importantly, I like it!
