MATT PLACES HIS MASTERCHEF BETS

As things heat up in theh kitchen, judge Matt Preston dishes the dirt on the final six and predicts their chances of winning

-

DIANA CHAN

Odds 5/1 Just like former MasterChef contestants Elena Duggan and Justine Schofield, she wrings powerful flavours out of anything. Her famous fans include Curtis Stone, Heston Blumenthal and Yotam Ottolenghi.

KARLIE VERKERK

Odds 3/1 Early favourites like Karlie often wane about halfway through the competition, but she’s got stronger. She’s as capable of knocking up a gnarly street-food dish as she is of playing it elegant.

BEN UNGERMANN

Odds 7/1 One of the few contestants who has developed his own distinctive plating style. Ben’s also one of the most hard-working and most improved contestants left.

SARAH TIONG

Odds 2/1 Sarah’s not just on a roll, she’s on a massive loaf of bread! In Japan, she was pretty much unbeatable in the individual challenges. She’s put up some of the best food ever.

TAMARA GRAFFEN

Odds 8/1 With a sunny disposition that would put the sunshine hours of her hometown of Broome to shame, Tamara’s had a scattering of wins, but it’s the sheer tastiness of so many of her dishes that endears her to us.

ARUM NIXON

Odds 12/1 Arum’s been steadily improving. He produced a winning beef Wellington in Shannon’s Mystery Box. Not that personality plays any part in our judging, but he’s a top bloke too!
