No Doubt about it, there was no coincidence when Gwen Stefani flaunted her incredible bikini body the very same week her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale went “Instagram official” with his new girlfriend.
The 47-year-old “Hollaback Girl” singer showed off her enviable abs and trim pins on California’s Newport Beach the day after her former hubby, 51, confirmed his relationship with German model Sophia Thomalla, 27, on social media – and insiders say Gwen was trying to send the love-rat musician a message!
“Gwen wanted to make him feel jealous and really miss her,” a friend reveals exclusively to Woman’s Day. “The Instagram post was like a red rag to a bull for Gwen. Even though she’s incredibly happy with her new man Blake Shelton, she and Gavin have three kids, so she checks his social media every day and she felt hurt he was looking so happy with a girl 20 years her junior.
“She’s very competitive and the last thing she wants is for people to say Gavin has traded up!” Mum to Kingston, 11, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, three, super-fit Gwen has made no secret of her dedication to keeping her figure in top form. She says, “I work out five days a week – I can’t imagine not doing it. I’d like to have no rules and eat what I want, but I’ve learned over the years that I’m so disappointed when I can’t wear the clothes I want to wear.”
