WOULD YOU RATHER...

As the new season of MKR heats up, we ask cheeky besties Jaryd and Ben to make some tough choices!

-

When Jaryd Gray heard Aussie hosts Pete Evans and Manu Feildel were opening auditions for a new season of My Kitchen Rules New Zealand, he knew immediately that his flatmate Ben Cliffe would be his perfect partner in crime. The 26-year-old best friends are so close, they say it’s almost like they’re a married couple. Jaryd tells, “Entering this competition could be a big strain on some relationships, but Ben and I have known each other for 20 years, so nothing is going to get in the way.” Before they cook up a storm in the kitchen this week, we ask the Auckland duo some tough questions!

Eat only stuFfing or only gravy for dinner?

Jaryd: I love gravy, so I’m going to go gravy. Ben: It depends what the stuffing is. I’ll go stuffing, actually. It could be bacon stuffing. Jaryd: It could be a beer can!

Never be able to use salt in your cooking or never be able to use pepper?

Jaryd: I think you’ll have to wait and see the episode on Monday – it’s a very topical question. But I would pick pepper. Ben: I’d never use salt – I love pepper.

Eat only white chocolate or milk chocolate for the rest of your life?

Ben: I’ve always been a white chocolate fan. Jaryd: I’m going to go milk chocolate! Ben: This might be the turning point in our relationship.

Eat every meal like a dog or with only your hands?

Ben: Hands because dogs have to eat flicking their tongue. Jaryd: Hands, for sure!

Cook a meal with Pete Evans or Manu Feildel?

Ben: Manu without a doubt. He was such good fun in the kitchen on the show and he would be more willing to do certain foods that Pete wouldn’t.
