QUEEN KIM’S REALITY CHECK

We catch up with the TV superstar as she celebrates 10 years of being on the box

-

It’s been an entire decade since Keeping up with the Kardashians first hit our screens and, 14 seasons later, Kim Kardashian West is now reality TV royalty. We take a walk down memory lane with the 37-year-old star to reflect on success, regrets and her kids – North, four, and Saint, who turns two this week – as well last year’s infamous Paris robbery.

Did you ever imagine the show would be such a winner?

We thought we were going to do it for one season, maybe two – we had no idea it was going to turn into what it has become. We were opening up Dash and I just thought the show would bring attention to the store.

Do you ever watch old episodes?

Absolutely! It’s so funny to hear what we would talk about and what we would fight about. There was one time we fought over a Bentley, which was so stupid and materialistic, but it’s funny and people liked it. I cringe more at my outfits than anything!

What’s been the hardest moment for you on the show?

The toughest thing, personally, was my situation last year in Paris. That was such a wake-up call for me. I used to put so much emphasis on material things and it made me realise how unimportant they are. But I would also say Caitlyn’s transition was pretty tough for the family. ly.

There are so many funny nny memes of you. Do you u have a favourite?

My cry face! I made it into o a Kimoji, so that is probably y the most iconic one and it is funny. I mean, I look so ugly crying ng that I have to make fun of f it.

What are the highs and nd lows of being a mother? er?

The best part is that you are just constantly filled with love and joy, and I am obsessed ed with my babies. The most stressful ful part is when you have “mom guilt” ilt” – when you feel guilty if you have e to go work or leave and you’re not there with them. That’s the hardest part. rt.

How do you keep your two children grounded?

That is actually a huge priority for r me, my husband and my family. It’s how my sister has raised her kids s and it’s just really making sure they hey live as normal a life as possible. We just do all the normal things that might not be easy to do, but it’s a priority ity for us because there is a lot that t they have to grow up with.
