It may not sound like the most comfortable option for a newborn, but Kim Kardashian West has forked out a staggering $3 million on a solid-gold bassinet for her third child.
The reality queen and her hubby Kanye West welcomed the little girl, who was born via surrogate, last week – and it’s been a nonstop spending spree ever since.
“Kim’s gone all out, splashing a fortune on the baby as she feels she has to compensate for not having carried her daughter,” a Kardashian family insider tells Woman’sDay. “She’s also had a baby spa built in the house, which features a specially heated pool, and is staffed with a full-time baby masseuse and a baby yoga instructor.”
The latest addition to TV’s most famous family will be wearing only the finest of threads, thanks to rapper Kanye, 40. Our insider says, “He’s had couture one-off pieces made by some of the world’s top designers and the baby already has a wardrobe worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
The couple broke the news of their daughter’s birth on Kim’s website, with the star writing, “Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl.”
Since then, the gifts have been flooding in, including a $3000 Dolce & Gabbana cashmere coat from Jennifer Lopez, a $2000 pearl bracelet from Rihanna and a $140,000 Swarovski crystal-encrusted rocking horse from Vogue editorin-chief Anna Wintour.
Before the little girl’s birth, Kim, 37, had been readying her two children, North, four, and Saint, two, for the arrival of their new sibling with the help of a team of child psychiatrists. “It was to help avoid any jealousy and feelings of being left out,” explains our insider.
The two tots reportedly visited their new sister in hospital the day after she was born, bringing paintings and a bracelet North had made in a jewellerymaking class.
The insider adds, “As hard as it was for Kim not to have control over this pregnancy and not be able to carry her own child, she’s on a high after it all went so smoothly. She’s already gushing about how she wants to do it again.”
