KADEE KEEPS HER EYES WIDE SHUT

Inside the lives of psychic sand scammers

-

KaDee Strickland’s thick Southern accent is enough to make anyone smile. But her dark new drama is no laughing matter. Shut Eye follows the story of scam artist Charlie (played by Jeffrey Donovan). After a blow to the head, he starts experiencing visions just like the ones he’s been faking all his life. KaDee chats to us about her role as his wife Linda.

How does Linda compare to your previous role on Private Practice?

Well, don’t expect the same show, that’s for sure! This is a very different character and there is a real sense of danger to these characters. This is less PG.

Do you have any memorable on-set moments?

My character has an affair and I was hoping to have time to get to know my co-star a bit before filming that scene. But life being funny the way it is, we had a rainy day, so my love scene got moved up to the second day. So there we were getting to know each other in a paint-filled room because ecause the set hadn’t even been finished getting built and that was just hilarious.

What were your first thoughts on the show?

I got sent the script t and I could not take my y eyes off it, I flipped through ugh the pages so fast. I thought, ought, “Wow, I’ve never seen een this world written about.” And I was a huge fan of producer cer Melissa Bernstein from Breaking Bad.

Have you been to New Zealand?

Waiheke Island is one of my favourite e places on the planet. et. Stonyridge Vineyard rd is full-on magic to me. I had some of the best couple of days of my life there. re.
