5 of the best ways to LIVE LIKE A STAR!

Keep an eye out for A-listers as you holiday in style!

-

Staying in a fabulous celeb-owned hotel or resort is the next best thing to rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. Who knows? You might catch a glimpse of your favourite star. And even if you don’t, who can resist checking out their taste in toiletries, décor and room service?!

1Catherine’s Bermuda resort

It’s been a multimillion-dollar project for Catherine ZetaJones and her husband Michael Douglas, but Ariel Sands Cottage Colony Hotel in Bermuda will finally open its doors around the middle of this year. The 47-cottage resort was the playground for the glitterati in the early ’90s but needed a modern facelift. “Bermuda has some of the best beaches in the world,” says Michael. “The water is warm in the summer. The golf courses are gorgeous. The people are sophisticated.” And even if you don’t see CZJ, there’ll be plenty of A-listers to spot by the pool!

2Robert’s arty boutique hotel

“You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me?” If you’re a fan of

TaxiDriver actor Robert De Niro (and who isn’t?), treat yourself to a stay at the luxury establishment he owns, The Greenwich Hotel, named after Greenwich Village, where the Hollywood legend was born. The fivestar hotel and spa is located in one of New York’s most hip and happening Manhattan districts. Stylish amenities include an indoor pool romantically lit with lanterns and, as you’d expect, Italian dining. Restaurant Tribeca Grill, as well as the rest of the hotel, serves as a permanent gallery for the artwork of Bob’s dad, the late Robert De Niro Senior.

3Julie’s gorgeous bed and breakfast

Even if you’ve never had the urge to run through the countryside and experience your own “Hills are Alive” moment, you’ll be inspired by a short break at Julie Andrews’ former weekend home. Dubbed “The Rubber House”, it features two bedrooms and a studio, and is the ideal escape. Located in Accord, two hours north of NYC, it’s nestled in nature and also serves as a creative retreat for artists. Just imagine being surrounded by some of the SoundofMusic star’s “Favourite Things”!

4Leo’s island hideaway

He may have a jam-packed diary, with movies and eco-activism on his to-do list (and let’s not forget his active interest in those on the Victoria’s Secret’s payroll!), but Leonardo DiCaprio is branching out into the hotel business. Located on a Central American island off the coast of Belize, the exclusive island retreat of Blackadore Caye will be “the world’s leading example of green hospitality” when it opens late next year.

5Liz’s Chelsea hotel

London’s most affluent postcode is home to 11 Cadogan Gardens, a five-star hotel owned by actress Elizabeth Hurley. In fact, keep your eyes peeled because the star not only owns the Victorian townhouse, but she also stays there when shooting her TV soapie TheRoyals. Whether she’s around or not, you can live like a queen in one of the 56 individually designed rooms with a truly regal feel.
