Day her cool-cucumber act is all for show and Kim, 37, is in fact so dangerously obsessed with work that her family life and her marriage to Kanye West are in tatters.
“Kim’s petrified of being seen as a mom figure and is desperate to show she’s a sex symbol above anything else,” a family insider tells us. “With Kim’s age creeping up and her younger sisters outshining her, her popularity is declining. Kim’s desperation to stay current and relevant has taken over everything in her life, including her role as a mother.”
It hasn’t helped that Kylie Jenner, 20, is also overshadowing her when it comes to being a dedicated mother to newborn daughter Stormi, which Kim finds frustrating, reports our insider.
“Watching Kylie spend every second with Stormi and take an extended work break so she can be with her 24/7 is hard for Kim as it reminds her of what she’s missing out on.”
Absent mum
A few weeks back, we revealed how the Keeping up with the Kardashians star was struggling to bond with her new daughter Chicago, who was born via a surrogate in January.
And while our insider confirms that Kim has hired a top psychologist, she is still refusing to clear her schedule to fit in more mother-daughter time. “She doesn’t spend much one-on-one time with Chi at all.”
In late February, Kim jetted off to Tokyo for work, leaving her three children, including North, four, and Saint, two, at home in Los Angeles.
Our insider claims, “She was in floods of tears in Japan when she FaceTimed Kanye and he told her how Chi giggled for the first time. It really hit her just how many milestones she’s missing. She broke down about how torn she feels and how difficult this experience of having a surrogate has been for her.”
But Kanye, 40, hasn’t been any better, with the distant dad spending much of his time working on his fashion label in New York since baby Chicago came home. It’s put a strain on their marriage of nearly four years, as have Kim’s recent topless Instagram posts, which the rapper thinks are “tasteless”.
Our insider reveals, “Kim wanted six children at one point, but she’s done a U-turn in recent weeks and says she’s not sure she wants any more kids, given how distant and detached she feels from Chi.”
