DREW & TIMOTHY’S FAMILY VALUES

The killer comedy get seven messier

-

Drew Barrymore is retiring from action. After a season-one stunt on SantaClarita Diet left her hospitalised, the actress says, “I basically will only have a stunt double. I got to be in Charlie’sAngels. Now I’m a 43-year-old soft mum.”

Currently starring in a second season of the hit Netflix show about a woman who finds herself to be a flesh-hungry zombie, the actress and her co-star Timothy Olyphant feed Woman’sDay more meaty tidbits.

How’s Hows your on-screen marriage?

Drew We know this is our new normal, so this season is about our moral compass – like, could we take out people the planet would be better off without? My character is more sensitive to Joel [played by Timothy] and what it must be like for him.

Timothy: There’s a really fun thing about investigating how this actually happened and whether there’s a possibility this becomes a worldwide problem. This couple is trying now not only to keep their marriage together, but also save the world.

Will there be another series?

Drew: The way we leave season two means a lot of possibilities for season three. There’s a bunch of stuff going on that’s going to start a new debate.

What’s it like working with so much fake blood?

Drew: I have to lie to my kids [Olive, five, and Frankie, three] all the time. I’d shower at work but I would always miss spots. They’d be like, “What’s this?” and I would say, “I’m painting.”

Timothy: You’re doing a lot of dark reds.
