When Brad Pitt left his lawyer’s office in Los Angeles recently, he looked like the cat who got the cream – and now we know why!
Leaked court documents have revealed the actor has been granted greater access to his six kids, with the judge making it clear that if his estranged wife Angelina Jolie doesn’t comply with the ruling, the FightClub hunk will be given primary custody of his beloved brood.
At the heart of the ruling was the court’s belief that not having a relationship with their father would be “harmful” to Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Before the new court order, Brad was allowed just one phone call a week with his kids and only supervised visitation.
A Pitt insider says Brad, 54, saw red when Angelina, 43, told him via lawyers that she planned to take the children to London for the filming of
MaleficentII and that he could see them on their return several months later.
Brad fought back through legal channels and was “thrilled” with the result, says our insider. “He sees it as a huge victory. He feels like he had a say and the court was seeing his side of things.”
The leaked documents reveal that Maddox is considered old enough to choose who he spends time with, but Brad is now scheduled to see his other children regularly while they’re in the UK and also when they’re back in Los Angeles.
The judge also ordered Angelina to give Brad the cellphone numbers of each child so he can text or call whenever he wants. She can only call once a day when the kids are with Brad.
The warring couple have racked up more than $21 million in legal fees since their marriage exploded in 2016 after a fracas between Brad and Maddox on a private plane.
A source close to Angelina says she’s “exasperated” but has accepted the judge’s ruling. “She knows it’s a court order and she has to do it.”
But it’s not all good news for Brad. It’s been reported his latest love interest, architecture professor Neri Oxman, has reunited with her estranged husband, billionaire Bill Ackman.
