As well as planning the trip to Mexico to confront his father-in-law, Harry was busy behind the scenes on secret plans for his wife’s 37th birthday.
While the couple were due to attend a friend’s wedding on August 4 – Meghan’s actual birthday – devoted Harry is said to have organised a romantic surprise for the day after, booking out an exclusive hotel and spa for her and their closest friends, including Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
He also splashed out on stunning gifts to help cheer her up after the latest onslaught of criticism from her dad Thomas.
“Harry wants Meghan to know how much he loves her, especially as it’s her first birthday since becoming his wife. He’s chosen a stunning bracelet encrusted with Peridot gems – the birthstone of August. He’s also been working g on a personal al yoga studio inn the basement of theirhi new home, collaborating with builders and designers to replicate the studio she loved in Toronto.
“Lastly, he’s put a beautiful book together of photographs of the two of them – from their first date all the way to their wedding day – with various love letters and sweet notes, as well as mementoes from their time together. He’s including the cocktail menu from the bar of their first date to depict their love story from the very start. He’s a true romantic!”
