The grieving royal shares her pain

-

When Zara Tindall welcomed her muchlonged for baby girl Lena into the world in June, it was a joyous moment as she finally fulfilled her wish of expanding her sweet family. But before she found that happiness, Zara Z faced months of heartbreak after two t misc arria miscarriages. The 37- year-old granddaughter granddaugh of the Queen – who is also mum m to four-year-old Mia – has previously opened up aabout her first miscarriage in 2016, when she was about a four months pregnant. But just last week, she r revealed she had suffered a secret second miscarriage b before the birth of Lena. She S says that it was “really early e on” and it’s been “too raw” raw to talk about until now. “You need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it,” she explained. “But, as with everything,, time’s a great healer.”

While they were able to keep their suffering under wraps this time, Zara and her husband Mike, 39, weren’t so fortunate with their first miscarriage, which had to be announced to the world because their pregnancy was already public knowledge.

“In our case, it was something that was really rare. It was nature saying, ‘This one’s not right.’ For me, the worst bit was that we had to tell everyone – everyone knew.”

The accomplished equestrienne credits her “concerned” and loving husband and “protective” older brother Peter Phillips, 40, for helping her move forward after her second loss.

“It was a time when my family came to the fore and I needed them.”
