A timeless CLASSIC
It’s the 40th anniversary of the beauty classic Moisture Mist Beauty Cake
L oved by Kiwi women for decades, Moisture Mist’s Beauty Cake is a New Zealandexclusive product – especially formulated for our skin. Moisture Mist was originally part of Shiseido’s international flagship make-up line, but it was here that the brand really found a home.
“I’ve known Moisture Mist since my childhood,” says Zoe Walker, NEXT Beauty Editor. “I think it’s so interesting that an international company has a brand and product dedicated to the local New Zealand market, particularly when beauty is now so global – that’s really special.”
For Lynley Ward, News Editor at Woman’s Day, the Moisture Mist Beauty Cake has been a favourite since her first ‘big deal’ job.
“When I landed a job at one of the country’s largest newspapers, I decided to treat myself to good-quality cosmetics,” she says. “I was a late starter to make-up and felt very unsure about where to begin.”
The Moisture Mist Beauty Cake was a revelation. “It was easy to apply, gliding over my face, leaving a dewy, silken finish. It was unlike any foundation available in the shops.”

products all the time, Zoe likes that the Beauty Cake is so versatile. “You can easily play with coverage depending on what you’re doing that day – and the compact is fun too!” she says.
“I see a lot of new products and trends,” adds Zoe. “There is something special about a timeless product like Moisture Mist that women truly love and continue to use throughout the years.”
To celebrate 40 years of beauty, the 2018 Moisture Mist Limited Edition Beauty Cake set pairs a special 40th anniversary compact with a Wild Blossom Collection Lipstick in Hawke’s Bay Bloom.
