MODERN MEDIUM SPIRIT TALK

The TV psychic lifts the lid on life with her spooky talent

-

Theresa Caputo has written three books and her beloved show Long Island Medium has been winning over fans for more than a decade. We grabbed five minutes with the psychic to talk about her success.

How does it feel now that your show has reached 10 seasons?

It’s insane! I still can’t believe that I even have a television show. Being able to share this with millions of people every week is such a blessing. Growing up, lots of kids say, “I’m going to have a TV show one day.” But I was never like that. To think that’s now become a reality for me is actually insane.

How long did it take you to realise you were a medium?

As a child coming from a very spiritual Catholic family, I would repress anything I saw. It wasn’t until later, in my 20s, that I was not only able to connect to my own loved ones, but everyone’s loved ones and people that I didn’t even know. It took me five years to accept that this was my soul’s journey and I struggled with it at first because of my faith.

How do you deal with critics and sceptics?

Everyone has a right to their own opinion and I get that. People can be critical about anything in life – that’s what makes the world go round. But I truly believe there is more to life than what is here in the physical world.

Why is your charity work important to you?

That’s the way I was raised. My parents are amazing role models. They always gave back and I learned that from them. I’m very proud that I’m able to help so many people, not only with my gift but in other ways too.
