AMAL’S READY TO FIGHT FOR HER TWINS
The pair take timeout as things look rocky
After more than 85 days apart, tongues are wagging that George and Amal Clooney may be heading for a shock divorce – and insiders fear that a brutal fight for their twins could be next!
The pair sparked rumours of trouble in paradise when Amal, 40, was noticeably absent from 57-year-old George’s annual Casamigos Halloween party in Las Vegas. In fact, they were last photographed as a couple three months ago, on August 12, in Italy.
“It’s been a long time since George and Amal were last seen together, and it seems as though they’ve been living separate lives lately,” a family source claims. “It was a surprise to see that Amal skipped George’s Halloween
party when it’s always such a big night of his year. People are wondering if it’s a sign that there’s trouble in their marriage.”
George and Amal tied the knot in a romantic Venice ceremony in 2014, and welcomed twins Ella and Alexander 17 months ago. However, there have been persistent reports of a rift this year, including rumours they have separate bedrooms.
“They discussed having more kids before they got to a crisis point in their marriage,” claims an insider. “Things have been really rocky for the past couple of months.”
Now friends fear that if the power couple do decide to end their marriage, it could lead to a bitter battle for custody of their son and daughter.
“George and Amal are both crazy about their kids, and it would be hard for either of them to agree to spending significant time away from Ella and Alexander,” reports one pal. “There’s a worry that a divorce could spell an all-out custody war, and with George’s fortune and Amal’s legal expertise, it could turn ugly very fast.
“They’re truly great parents, so the hope is that if they split up, they’ll be able to do what’s best for the twins and agree to share custody.”
However, those close to the A-list couple are hoping that it won’t come to that.
“They may have had their problems, but George and Amal are good together, and everyone wants to see them make it work,” adds our source. “It took George a long time to find Amal, so hopefully this isn’t the end of their love story.”
