Leonardo DiCaprio is known for his star-studded parties, but Jennifer Aniston being on the guest list for his 44th birthday soiree at the private Beverly Hills club Spring Place certainly raised eyebrows.

“No-one even knew they were friends,” a Hollywood source spills. “He was so happy to see her, giving her a big hug and kiss, and they seemed to spend a lot of time together during the night.”

Rumour has it that Leonardo and Jennifer’s new friendship was all down to her ex Brad Pitt’s handiwork.

“Brad’s gotten close to Leo since working together on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and introduced them, knowing they’d hit it off,” reveals our insider. “Of course, it helps take the heat off Brad, who was looking for a way to cool things off with Jen.”

According to our insider, Brad, 54, and Jennifer, 49, have vowed to remain friends while his divorce from Angelina Jolie is being finalised.

While Leonardo’s said to be still seeing Camila Morrone, 21, a friend of the actor suggest he’s getting itchy feet – and loves the thought of dating someone in his own age bracket.

“No-one saw anything go on between them at the party,” reveals one partygoer. “But if they dated, they’d be Hollywood’s new supercouple and no doubt Brad would be kicking himself for letting her go a second time.”
