Woman’s Day (New Zealand)

Editor’s letter

- SIDO KITCHIN EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, WOMAN’S DAY

Woman’sDay was right there from the start! Art Green and Matilda Rice’s love story has graced our pages since they met on the first-ever Kiwi series of TheBachelor back in 2015, so it was extra-sweet to be there when they exchanged rings for real on a beautiful summer’s day on Waiheke … no red roses in sight!

The wedding of these two soulmates was made even more special with the exciting announcement that the lovebirds will soon become parents – Matilda is three months pregnant! Oh, it’s just too much gorgeousness to cope with all at once.

Doesn’t it seem like yesterday that Art and Matilda gazed into each other’s eyes as he gave her a ring in a beach ceremony on the h telly? Remember, she had an arm in a cast and he said those romantic words, “It’s always been you.” How I loved that season. I lapped up eight weeks of rose ceremonies, cocktail parties and group dates before finding out it was natural beauty Matilda who had won handsome Art’s heart.

I always felt a bit guilty about my Bachelor obsession, but who doesn’t love watching people fall in love? The show may be about romance and fantasy, but Art and Matilda are proof that it wasn’t all make believe. This reality TV was actually real!

Since then, we’ve watched their love grow. We were there when they uttered “the L word” for the first time, holidayed around the world, got engaged and bought their first home, complete with chooks. Now we’re witnessing a new chapter for this couple as husband and wife – and Mum and Dad! Awww, shucks. These guys give the world hope that fairytales really do come true. Thanks, Art and Matilda, for letting us share the ride. We are all so happy for you.

I’m sure our readers would like to join Woman’sDay in wishing Art and Matilda – and their little bump – our heartfelt love and congratulations!
