She was surrounded by some of the brightest stars in Hollywood, but it was the Duchess of Cambridge who stole the spotlight at the British Academy Film Awards in a breathtaking Alexander McQueen gown.

Gliding down the red carpet alongside her husband the Duke of Cambridge, Kate couldn’t hide her smile and she looked simply angelic. But despite the stunning dress, it was her sparkling accessories that caught the eye of many an avid royal fan.

In a touching tribute to the late Princess Diana, the brunette beauty, 37, donned her motherin-law’s favourite diamond and pearl drop earrings that she wore many times.

Adding further glitz to her already glamorous outfit, Kate

sported a bracelet on loan from the Queen known as the Diamond Quatrefoil Bracelet, as well as a pair of Jimmy Choo heels.

The royal couple, who are parents to George, five, Charlotte, three, and ninemonth-old Louis, have attended the awards ceremony several times now, with Prince William, 36, being president of the BAFTAs since 2010.

While the pair have been married for almost eight years, their romance looked to be alive and well at the show, where the lovebirds sat in the front row giggling and smiling at one another.

Their romantic date night comes amidst rumours that Kate is desperate to have a fourth child by next year.

“Kate has seen the bond between George and Charlotte, and thinks it would be lovely if Louis had a sister closer to his age,” a royal insider reports. “She’s doing things her way, but William has always supported her and will do anything to make her happy. That is a promise he made before they married.”
