Unlucky-in-love Katie Holmes is alone again, with her on-off boyfriend Jamie Foxx confirming their shock split at an Oscars gala last week. A guest reports, “It was very nonchalant. While he was referring to married and single couples, he just dropped the line, ‘I’m single.’” And the hints only got heavier as the night wore on, with the Django Unchained actor, 51, cosying up to Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr, 33, for an hour at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s post-Oscars bash, where he acted very much the single man. “Jamie was clearly on a mission to have a good night and started drinking as soon as he arrived,” a witness tells Woman’s Day. “He was lapping up attention from fellow actors and actresses, and being extremely touchyfeely with other women. He didn’t mention Katie at all.” The former Dawson’s Creek beauty was also nowhere in sight the night before, when
Jamie left a pre-Oscars party in Beverly Hills with Victoria’s Secret models Shanina Shaik and Jasmine Tookes, both 28, in tow.
Katie and Jamie were last seen together late last year, when rumours swirled of plans for a wedding in Paris, but an insider says, “They’ve been at loggerheads for weeks over his increasing closeness with his ex Kristin Grannis, and they’ve had a string of jealous rows, so Jamie’s behaviour will no doubt infuriate Katie even more.”
However, a source close to Jamie alleges it was Katie who called time on their on-off five-year relationship after he refused to let her and her 12-year-old daughter Suri spend time with his two girls over Christmas.
“He’d hired a big yacht over the holidays, but he made them leave before his daughters came to stay,” claims our source. “It was like he was kicking out his mistress before his real family came. It was so sad for Katie, who has worked so hard to try to be a part of Jamie’s life.
“That was the final straw – Katie finally dumped him after he’d treated her terribly for so long. She’s brokenhearted. She really thought she and Jamie would go the distance and marry, but he always wanted to remain single.”
