Justin hits rock bottom
Just weeks after admitting that he’s “emotionally unstable” and struggles with “finding peace”, Justin Bieber has sparked fresh fears for his mental health, stepping out in New York looking gaunt and miserable.
And those close to the former teen idol – who has postponed his second wedding to model Hailey Baldwin as he seeks treatment for his depression – agree there’s cause for concern, warning the 24-year-old chart-topper may soon sing his last song.
“Justin is on a knife’s edge at the moment,” a friend of the star claims, adding that he’s dropped to just 59kg. “He’s getting help, but it doesn’t seem to be working. He’s stopped eating, sleeps all the time and wants to be by himself. He seems to have lost the will to live.”
As far back as 2015, Justin admitted he struggled with depression “all the time” and compared himself to the tragic Amy Winehouse. He said fame left him “isolated”, adding, “This life can rip you apart.” And in his recent interview with
Vogue magazine, the star confessed his reliance on prescription drugs caused him to do dangerous things.
“I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous,” he confided. “It got pretty dark. There were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing.”
Now, at least, Justin has Hailey, 22, in his life. The young lovebirds briefly dated in 2015 and were engaged shortly after reconnecting in July 2018, tying the knot last November.
“He needs someone like Hailey in his life because she gives him stability, but anyone can see that they rushed into this marriage,” a family insider tells Woman’s Day. “Justin has been through a lot in his short life and has issues that he still needs to work through. Hopefully, he can come out of this treatment in a better place than ever before.”
Hailey admitted to Vogue, “Marriage is effing hard,” but those close to the deeply religious model say she takes her vow to stick with Justin “in sickness and in health” very seriously.
“She’s cared for Justin since ce they met when she was 16 and she truly thinks she can help him beat his demons,” reports one of the catwalk beauty’s friends.
“It must be awfully tough for Hailey given she’s married d so young. Lesser women would have cut and run immediately, but she’s determined to stand by Justin’s side.”
