Woman’s Day (New Zealand)

Editor’s letter

- RACHEL SIDO KITCHIIDDON KITCHIN EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, WOMAN’S DAY

It’s been a crazy week, and I’m longing for the weekend – a chance to walk my dog on the beach, have sleep-ins and cuddles with the kids, and snuggle up on my favourite couch by the window to read. Bliss.

Just like you, my life is busy. And that’s one of the reasons I appreciate that when you, lovely readers, get a window to kick back and relax with Woman’s Day, it’s a treat. Thinking of you taking a break and enjoying some precious me-time through our pages is what makes this job such a joy.

It’s been my mission to coin a phrase for that “aaaahhhh” moment we get when our shoulders drop and we dive into the pages of a good read! We’ve decided it’s a bit like taking a little holiday from our hectic worlds – a moment to switch off and escape with a “Woman’sDay vacay”. Hopefully you can breathe easier and feel restored after relaxing with the mag.

You’re likely to spot our fun new “Woman’s Day vacay” ads rolling out this week and I’ll let you in on a little secret. The three lovely women in the commercials are all part of our Woman’sDay team – that’s one of our ad managers on page 2-3 of this week’s magazine. Amy has five-yearold twins and a full-on job, so I’m very grateful to her for popping on yellow togs on a cool spring day for our campaign. And a big thank you to lifestyle director Penny and ad manager Rachel who’ll be popping up in ads too. We like to keep it in the family!

I haven’t had a real holiday this year – neither have my kids. Thankfully we have a wee getaway to Rarotonga on the horizon. But meanwhile, I’m looking forward to my vacay moment on the couch this weekend. I hope you get one too!
