Michael’s son beats cancer

-

On October 31, 2016, Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato got some heartbreaking news: their then-three-yearold son Noah had been diagnosed with liver cancer.

“It’s the worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent, maybe as a human being,” recalls Michael, who dropped everything to be by Noah’s side through his treatments.

“Life changes for all of us when we face the mortality of someone who you love so much. It made my faith stronger and taught me that every day should be filled with joy. I don’t have room for anything else.”

The Canadian crooner, 44, has been living that way ever since. This holiday season marks one year since Michael happily shared that Noah’s cancer is in remission.

“Not a day goes by that he and Luisana aren’t counting their blessings,” a source tells, pointing out that the last few years were “emotionally jarring” for Michael and Argentinian Luisana, 32, who are also parents to son Elias, three, and daughter Vida, 16 months. “There were lots of tears and fears that Noah wouldn’t make it.”

Today, the pair love hearing Noah laugh and talk up a storm – and feel so lucky they’ll get to watch him grow and thrive. “When they look at their healthy six-year-old little boy, it truly reminds them to appreciate everything they have,” adds the source, “and to remember that family is the greatest gift of all.”

Following Noah’s diagnosis, Michael’s life fell apart. “The stress s of caring for a sick child was w intense,” explains the insider. in “There were sleepless nights n and long days of worry and a uncertainty.”

On top of that, Michael’s career c was in crisis. “I didn’t want w people to know, but

I lost my love of all of it,” he admits. a “I was having zero fun. I cared too much about what people p thought and what they were w saying.”

Eventually, the Grammy winner decided to put his career on hold and focus on Noah. “I thought I might never make music again,” confesses Michael. “I’d never put the ego of the job ahead of my family. I knew if I came back into this world, it would have to be bliss.”

As Noah got healthier, Michael started to feel inspired again.

“Before anyone knew it, he was making music again,” adds the source, noting that it was the singer’s chance to share his struggles and joy through his craft. “Plus, Michael’s kids love to hear him sing and watch him perform from backstage. They think it’s the coolest thing – and Michael would never let them down.”

Currently on the European leg of his AnEveningwith MichaelBubléTour, the star plans to fly home to Vancouver to be with Luisana and the kids for Christmas. “As much as he enjoys performing, Michael’s first love is family and he’s looking forward to spending quality time with them,” tells the source, adding that the singer is excited to read comic books with Noah and Elias, and dance around the house with Vida.

“After everything they’ve been through, Michael will never take a moment for granted again. This will be one of their happiest holidays yet.”
