Woman’s Day (New Zealand)

Editor’s letter

- SIDO KITCHIN EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, WOMAN’S DAY

Hallelujah! We’ve made it to the end of the year and I hope for most of you it’s finally time to relax and put your feet up. Whether you’re at the beach, by the pool or enjoying lovely lazy days at home, hopefully you are now getting time to chill after the mad endof-year rush.

With you in mind, this week my wonderful Woman’s Day team has created a bumper holiday issue to help you unwind. Every week of the year I like to imagine you take a wee Woman’s Day vacay when you escape into our pages, but right now I’m hoping you really are on a well-earned summer holiday – so we’re treating you to a whopper issue jampacked with fun features.

Along with your regular dose of royal news, showbiz gossip and real-life reads, check out our giant pullout puzzle, 2019 celebrity quiz, binge-watching special and holiday book recommendations.

And who doesn’t love a summer barbie? Try out our simple, sizzling barbecue recipe ideas, plus cool ways to quench your thirst with refreshing spritzers.

If, like me, you’ve been avoiding getting into your togs this summer, now is the time to get your swimwear sorted and we’ve got great ideas for every shape – plus fab cover-ups!

Soon I’m heading off camping in the Coromandel with family and friends, so asked our health editor Penny for a handy guide on how to deal with common summer ailments – jellyfish stings, insect bites, bee stings and other nasties. Hopefully you have a painfree holiday, but it’s always good to be prepared!

Right now, I urge you to forget about work and household chores, make yourself a cuppa or pour yourself a glass of wine, and enjoy curling up with this final issue of 2019.

Here’s to sunny skies, safe travel, sleep-ins and seeing smiles on the children’s faces. See you in 2020!
