ANGE ’S SAD LONELY LIFE

The star shuts herself away from everyone but her kids

They used to be the king and queen of the red carpet. But while Brad Pitt remained the toast of Hollywood this awards season, his ex-wife Angelina Jolie was noticeably absent from every ceremony.

“She’ll never admit it, of course, but Ange is jealous of how much Brad has been embraced by the show business community after they split up,” says an insider of the actor, who picked up all of the

major prizes for his role in Once UponaTimeinHollywood. “He’s on top of the world right now, and that doesn’t make her happy.”

Glitzy Tinseltown events and Brad aren’t all that Angelina, 44, seems to be avoiding though. Except for a few rare trips out with her children (the last was a movie studio visit with son Pax, 16, on January 6), the actress hasn’t been seen in public at all.

“Her disappearance is worrying,” admits the insider. “Aside from her kids, she hasn’t really spoken to anyone in weeks – Ange is almost in isolation at her house in Los Angeles. Her world is very lonely.”

Things have got even more desolate since she blindsided Brad with divorce papers after a 12-year relationship in 2016.

“Ange’s social life is nothing like it was when she was with him – she doesn’t have one now,” the showbiz source claims. “She doesn’t enjoy nights out, dinners with friends, parties, stimulating conversations, none of that.”

Indeed, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts and other A-listers Angelina may have been spotted hobnobbing with over the last decade were all Brad’s pals.

According to the insider, the Maleficent actress has a habit of “shutting people out” – especially when they offend her. The star famously cut off her own father, Jon Voight, 81, in 2002 after he publicly spoke about his daughter’s “mental problems”. The estranged pair didn’t begin to reconcile until eight years later, in mid-2010.

Now, aside from her dad and brother James Haven, 46, who she sees infrequently, Angelina mostly socialises with her kids – Pax, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 13, twins Knox and Vivienne, 11, and Maddox, 18, who is currently attending college in South Korea – calling them her “best friends”.

The source adds, “She’s always trying to coax them to hang out with her, but they’re at the age where that’s not cool anymore and want to do their own things.”

So Angelina spends most of her nights “eating a bland meal alone at home, reading a script. It’s sad”.
