From the outset, real-estate agent Aleks Markovic was clear about what she wanted out of the MarriedatFirstSight experiment: to start a family. Now, it seems the sharp-shooting bride has got exactly what she wished for – and more!
Last week, the 32-year-old sent the rumour mill into overdrive when she was snapped back home in Perth, cradling what onlookers describe as a baby bump. And while Aleks and her TV husband Ivan Sarakula, 30, appear to be falling more and more in love each week, it’s becoming increasingly unclear who the baby daddy is.
Rumours of a pregnancy first surfaced when Aleks refrained from drinking alcohol at a dinner party, leading castmates to talk.
“It was just very out of character for her to refuse some dinner party bubbles, and she frequently spoke about how her parents thought she should be starting a family at her age,” says an on-set spy.
But making matters more complicated is that Aleks has been linked to two other blokes. A close source says Ivan was devastated when he discovered she was chasing another guy.
“Ivan was beside himself when he found out she’d met a guy named Slobo at a party in Sydney,” dishes the spy. “Even though it was pretty obvious Slobo wasn’t into Aleks, Ivan completely broke down.”
Aleks has also been spotted enjoying the company of 2019 MAFS groom Dino Hira. A source close to the meditation guru says the pair have formed a close bond in Perth, with Aleks leaning on him for advice.
She was an emotional wreck after being cheated on in her first season of MAFS, and already there’s concerns for Lizzie Sobinoff’s wellbeing now she’s back on the show for a second shot at love.
Lizzie – whose new TV hubby is Seb Guilhaus – seriously clashed with Hayley Vernon, 32, in an explosive catfight on a girls’ night out, ending with the 28-year-old smashing a glass in anger. Apparently Lizzie took offence when disgraced bride Hayley made fun of other women and joked about cheating on her groom. “Lizzie’s out for Hayley’s blood!” reveals a source, who says Lizzie was so enraged, producers were forced to step in to break up the stoush moments before Lizzie attempted to grab Hayley by the throat. “They had never seen her like that before – it was intense!” dishes our spy.
The fiery bride, whose lost a dramatic amount of weight since the last series, also spoke out last week about the sexual abuse she endured at age six. She explains, “It was such a huge moment in my life … and it was in the safety of my own house.”
Revealing she was assaulted “for months”, it wasn’t until much later that she sought help and was misdiagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder.
“I reacted badly to the medications, I ended up hallucinating,” she tells. “I had drug-induced schizophrenia for close to six years.”
Lizzie says she attempted suicide twice before taking herself off the medication.
Since then, she’s been diagnosed with porphyria, a blood disorder which can affect the skin and nervous system, as well as autoimmune disease Lupus.
