KATE’S ITALIAN GAP YEAR FROM HELL!
Harry and Meghan’s ongoing feuds are set to rip the family apart
After a scary home invasion, radio star Kate Langbroek and her family fled to Italy last year in search of a fresh start. And while things started well, Kate’s European gap year has descended into one giant disaster. First, the mum-of-four was horrified to learn her palazzo mansion – built in the 1300s – was haunted after a selfie revealed a ghostly figure in the background. Next, any hopes of enjoying the beautiful countryside were dashed after COVID-19 forced Italy – one of the worst countries affected by the virus – into lockdown. “I’ve probably only left the house five times in a month,” Kate previously revealed. Then her husband Pete Lewis was caught by police and interrogated after going on a bike ride. Kate, 54, is now hoping the family will be deported back home. “It’s the only way we can get out of here,” she says.
Kyly and Michael Clarke’s divorce sent shockwaves around the country earlier this year, which only seemed to snowball after the sports star appeared to swiftly move on with a Sydney socialite, fashion designer Pip Edwards.
However, it seems Kyly, 38, may just be getting the last laugh after it emerged that Michael has moved back into his marital home with the
House Rules star and their four-year-old daughter Kelsey Lee.
The former cricket captain had been living at his Bondi bachelor pad – just minutes from Pip’s apartment. But it seems the pair have ended things just as quickly as they started, with Michael now living with Kyly in their Vaucluse mansion.
While a source close to the
pair confirms they haven’t reconciled, they say living together is working for the family. “It is working for both of them, including their daughter,” says the insider.
It comes after Michael, 39, shared a snap on Instagram of him fishing, along with a caption that pointed to a reconciliation.
“With all the chaos going on, it’s important to have some time to think and reflect,” he wrote.
The Bachelorette star Jarrod Woodgate caused a stir recently when he shared snaps of his “proposal” to girlfriend Sam Royce. However, talking to Woman’s Day, Jarrod says it’s more of a commitment ring to solidify their healthy relationship.
“It’s a ‘thank you for showing me what a healthy relationship is and how I deserve to be treated’ ring,” he says. In what appeared to be a dig at former girlfriend Keira Maguire, 33, who he dated on-and-off for a year, Jarrod said it was nice to be in a relationship that isn’t as superficial.
“It’s nice to be loved for who I am on the inside, not my profile,” he adds. “I’ve finally realised that no amount of designer clothes, fancy restaurants or exclusive parties can compare to being treated well and being encouraged to be my true dorky self.”
Jarrod, 34, and Sam, 24 – who appeared on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor – confirmed their relationship earlier this year, announcing they had moved in together in Darwin.
For a couple who insisted they were moving to Hollywood for privacy reasons, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex couldn’t have had a more public – or controversial – time recently.
Prince Harry, 35, and his wife Meghan, 38, have dominated the news yet again, with cries of “blatant hypocrisy” echoing around the world as they begin a grim courtroom battle that threatens to split the monarchy.
What began as a seemingly simple copyright case against British newspaper The Mail On
Sunday – which Meghan claims unlawfully published a letter from herself to her estranged father Thomas – has exploded into an ugly legal dogfight, and it appears the pair don’t care who it drags down with them.
Proceedings are set to begin with Meghan “taking the stand” in London via video link from her digs in LA. In the lead-up, her lawyers released texts from Harry and Meghan to her father as part of the court proceedings. The texts were sent in the days leading up to the couple’s May 2018 wedding, which Thomas Markle, 75, bailed out of at the last minute due to a heart attack.
UNDER ATTACK
In the same week, the couple launched a blistering offensive on several UK newspapers – accusing them of fake news, insisting they would never speak to their journalists again and would only engage with “select media”. The move quickly sparked allegations of royal censorship.
Harry and Meghan have yet to produce examples of the stories they have taken offence to, although Woman’s Day’s exclusive sources have learned they were particularly annoyed about a Sun report that said they had sneakily moved from Canada to LA, which proved to be correct.
For the royals left behind after the Sussex family’s chaotic exit, it’s a disaster.
“All the good work they’re doing with the public through the pandemic – including Prince Philip coming out of retirement to do his bit – is being completely overshadowed by this pair of petulant kids,” fumes a palace insider.
“They don’t seem to care who they bulldoze during this desperate attempt to prove they’re victims. They dropped their letter to the papers on the eve of the Queen’s birthday, for goodness sake. Then, despite saying they crave privacy for their son, they tell their favourite media they FaceTimed her on her birthday with Archie.
“They’ve moved to the Wild West and they’re acting like it.”
Those close to Harry’s brother Prince William, 37, and his wife Kate, 38 – whose strained relationship with Meghan has been well reported – are hoping the court case will expose the Sussexes for the troublemakers they really are.
“For once, Wills is on the newspaper’s side,” says a source. “Rumour has it the
Mail’s got a blockbuster case against Meghan, and if she’s willing to air her dirty laundry in an unprecedented royal court case, then imagine what the biggest paper in the world has on her.
“William and Kate may even be called to testify under oath. This could shape up to be the most compelling royal court case in history.”
