COASTAL-TOLERANT SCREEN TREES

Try smaller pohutukawa cultivars such as Metrosideros ‘Springfire’, ‘Mistral’ or ‘Scarlet

Pimpernel’; Pittosporum ‘Stephens Island’; olives; Olearia lineata or Olearia paniculata.

CURVED FLOWER BEDS

Try echinacea, salvia, small lavender cultivars such as ‘Munstead’, hebe, grevillea, leucospermum, sedum, strelitzia and kangaroo paw.

EDGING PLANTS

Try dwarf flax such as ‘Jack Spratt’, ‘Surfer’ and ‘Platt’s Black’; rain lilies (zephyranthes);
